Higher education opportunities abound in area

The Tri-Cities region has no shortage of higher education opportunities — a state university, community college and private liberal art colleges are all located in the region.

East Tennessee State University in Johnson City has awarded degrees to more than 72,000 people since it opened in 1911. About 40,000 ETSU alumni live within a 100-mile radius of the campus. The university offers more than 100 degree programs from bluegrass to medical degrees to around 11,500 students, who represent 42 states and 62 countries. ETSU has approximately 1,900 faculty and staff. Around 2,500 students live on campus. More...
