By Sharon Caskey Hayes

If you want it, you can probably get it in the Tri-Cities. The region has a variety of shopping complexes, from large enclosed malls to strip centers and freestanding stores.

The largest shopping complex in Kingsport is the Fort Henry Mall, with more than 70 stores in 550,000 square feet of retail space.

Customers find a welcomed alternative to running all over town when they enter Fort Henry Mall. New plush carpeting coupled with diversified national retailers and a family oriented atmosphere make Fort Henry Mall simply better for the entire family.

Anchored by Sears, JCPenney, Proffitt’s and Proffitt’s Store for Home and Kids, the mall also includes various shops for clothing, shoes, jewelry, books, music and gifts. Stores include Justice, Christopher & Banks, CJ Banks, Kirkland’s, American Eagle Outfitters, Victoria’s Secret, Shoozies, the Deb Shop and Kay Jewelers.

The mall features Marquee Cinemas, an eight-screen theater complex with Dolby digital surround sound, high back rocking chairs and moveable armrests.

“The mall offers anything you want. If you want it, you can find it here,” said mall Manager Kevin Harmon.

The Fort Henry Mall also features several sit-down restaurants and great treats such as Piccadilly, Garfield’s, Italian Village, Chick-Fil-A, Charley’s Grilled Subs, Subway, Great American Cookies, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels and Cookie Store.

And Wellmont Wellcare is located in the mall, offering patrons various health-related services and support programs.

Goody’s and Fred’s are located in the Green Acres Shopping Center on Eastman Road, and Big Lots is located in the Southland Shopping Center off Fort Henry Drive.

A short distance away, shoppers can visit Hamrick’s at Exit 69 off Interstate 81. And located just down the interstate at Exit 66 is a shopping complex that includes the Carolina Pottery and Tri-City Cinema.

In Johnson City, shoppers can visit the Mall at Johnson City, with 575,000 square feet of retail space under one roof on North Roan Street. With about 90 stores, the mall is a “shopping destination for the whole region,” said mall Manager Jeff Washburn.
